Elective time is scheduled for 4 weeks in your PGY-3 year. Various opportunities exist within the current system for enhancing your education. Please feel free to talk to the faculty about elective opportunities.

Submit elective requests to the assistant program director 6 weeks prior to the rotation. If an away rotation is requested, proposals must be submitted a minimum of 60 days prior to the start of the requested rotation.

The following is needed before approval of an elective:

1. Goals and Objectives
2. Supervisor
3. Evaluator (who will evaluate you)
4. Schedule of activities - What activities you will be involved in during your rotation? Clinics, call ?, rounds, etc.

Once that has been reviewed, a note will be sent to the evaluator regarding the elective.

If you have any questions, please contact the program director early. If you wait until right before the elective to do this you might get caught in a time crunch.
