The American Board of Emergency Medicine In-Training Examination is administered to all residents on the last Wednesday of February. Residents are required to take the exam and will be given the time away from their services for this purpose.

Residents are encouraged to use the results of the exam to recognize areas needing further study. It is also an excellent preparation for the American Board of Emergency Medicine Certification Examination taken by all graduates.

All residents are required to take the oral exams administered in late January. Second year residents are required to pass one station. Senior residents must pass all stations.
