I enjoy anything that involves being active, if it is a competitive activity I enjoy it even more. I also enjoy working with kids and coaching youth sports. Another passion of mine is being active in the outdoors with elk hunting being at the top of the list. When time allows I like to visit and explore foreign countries.. I am also very close to my family and any time with them is time well spent.
Being outdoors– I love walking with friends along the Mississippi River with a coffee in hand. I enjoy cooking and eating with my mom and other family and friends. I enjoy evenings joking around with my partner and baby.
Dr. Priya Sury (she/her) practices emergency medicine to serve the most vulnerable patients in our healthcare system. She sees problems in the Emergency Department as manifestations of society’s most critical issues and is passionate about our Emergency Departments’ role in improving quality of care for underserved patients across the Twin Cities and rural Minnesota. She brings a creative, synergistic approach, drawing on her undergraduate majors in Anthropology and Spanish (Washington University in St. Louis) her D.Phil (PhD) in Theology (University of Oxford) to think about how interdisciplinary data can be used to meet the bio-psycho-social needs of our diverse emergency department patients. She adores her energetic, brilliant ER colleagues and loves teaching medical students and residents.

I really enjoy just about any outdoor activity including hiking, climbing, backpacking, camping, running, biking, swimming, disc golfing, slacklining and others. I play a lot of tennis and spend a lot of time on cross country skis and on a snowboard. I am married to an awesome woman and we have two teenage boys and I have been fortunate to watch them succeed at their pursuits.
I think ultrasound is amazing – it provides better care to the patient and better professional satisfaction to me.
